Class Descriptions

Monday - Relaxing, just for women

A slower, more spacious start and finish — but don’t be fooled. There is still plenty of fire in the middle.

This class is designed as a feel-good start to the week: grounding, strengthening, and gently energising without feeling overwhelming.

We’ll ease in, build the heat through focused Pilates work, and then soften back down so you leave feeling worked and well.

Why not double up and join my yoga class afterwards for the full Grōwan experience?

Best for:

  • easing into the week

  • building strength steadily

  • those who enjoy a balanced pace

  • anyone wanting both calm and challenge

Tuesday - Dynamic

We dive straight in.

After a focused warm-up, we move through a flowing, dynamic sequence of Contemporary Pilates exercises designed to build strength, stability, and stamina.

Expect:

  • continuous movement

  • deep core work

  • strong glutes and legs

  • and that unmistakable Pilates shake

You’ll leave feeling stronger, warmer, and deeply worked from the inside out.

Best for:

  • those who like a stronger pace

  • building heat quickly

  • improving muscular endurance

  • anyone who loves to feel the fire

I can’t wait to bring this new offering to Grōwan and to support you in building strength that feels intelligent, sustainable, and empowering.

How I Intend to Teach Pilates

I’m currently in training Move Union (awaiting exam results) to teach Contemporary Pilates and I’m so excited to add this to our offering at Grōwan.

If you already practice with me, you’ll know my teaching is rooted in Hatha yoga, delivered through a trauma-informed, lens. That approach isn’t going anywhere. Instead, I’m bringing that same care, attentiveness, and body-led awareness into my Pilates classes… just with a little more fire.

Because Pilates, at its heart, is meant to challenge you.

Bringing My Yoga Roots Into Pilates (With Added Fire)

My Hatha classes are known for being thoughtful, grounding, and accessible. I pay close attention to how bodies move, how people feel in the space, and how to create an environment where everyone feels safe to explore.

My Pilates classes will hold that same ethos — but expect:

  • more intensity

  • more muscular challenge

  • more of that deep, satisfying shake

Pilates is supposed to bring the heat. You should feel your muscles waking up, working hard, and sometimes trembling a little.

But here’s the important part: you will always have options.

Your body is not the same every day. Your energy shifts. Your capacity changes. In my classes, you’ll always be invited to:

  • scale up

  • dial back

  • rest when needed

  • or push the fire when it feels right

This is not about forcing. It’s about challenge when you want it.

A Space That Welcomes Everyone

I believe movement spaces should be welcoming and supportive for all bodies. I do have classes specifically for women because I am a woman - and so I know what women need! But I am looking forward to opening up space for men too.

I will always have a special place in my teaching for women. Supporting women to feel strong, capable, and at home in their bodies is something I care deeply about and have enjoyed so much in my yoga teaching.

At Grōwan, you can expect:

  • a warm, non-intimidating environment

  • thoughtful cueing and clear guidance

  • encouragement without pressure

  • and space to work at your own pace
